One-hour session: $250 in studio; $300 on location

The all-important first step in any biography is a carefully researched, professionally guided interview. For clients who simply want to record their unedited stories, we offer two-hour or four-hour recording sessions (video or, if desired, only audio), with unedited content then provided on DVDs.

Prior to these interviews, we talk with clients to research their stories and preferences and then prepare questions to cover what they consider to be the key aspects of their lives. Interviews are conducted either in our studio or in clients’ homes or other locations.

Once their stories are captured on DVD, clients have the option of further engaging us to refine and enhance their material through editing and/or restructuring; adding photos, music, and graphics; retouching images, and more.

Two-hour session, with unedited content on DVD: $600

Four-hour session, with unedited content on DVD: $900

Typically around 30 minutes to one hour in finished length, these fully researched, edited, distilled biographies capture the key stages, events, relationships, and themes of the person’s life. They involve one two- to four-hour video interview and collection of 200-400 key photographs (with identifications and dates) from throughout the person’s life, as well as full video editing and music selection.

Cost range: $3,800 to $5,800

Original photography & photo retouching are optional extras

Typically around two hours in finished length, these extensive biographies include chapters covering all phases of a person’s life, from childhood through current life and personal philosophy. They involve many hours of research, interviewing, and collection of a lifetime of photos, as well as extensive video editing, photography, photo retouching, music selection and editing, etc. Total production time is typically about six months.
